Studiomama deliver a dream test kitchen for Chef Ottolenghi's culinary office
Famous for his gorgeous colourful food and award-winning cookbooks, Chef Yotam Ottolengi has earned a worthy test kitchen in North London. The kitchen is designed to be accessible and relaxed, filled with colours inspired by the Middle Eastern way of cooking. Nina Tolstrup and Jack Mama from Studiomama use playful yet durable materials incorporating recycled and renewable materials in the finishes, like Durat Palace for the cabinet doors and splashbacks.
Durat materials are great for domestic and professional kitchens alike. The silky, three-dimensional surface gives an extravagant impression paired with an extremely durable material that can withstand years of use.
The recycled solid surface material offers designers almost infinite opportunities to create various surfaces. From over 1000 colour option everyone could find their own favorite. And pieces of different coloured Durat can be combined into a seamless surface through fabrication - the only limit is designers’ imaginations.
The seamless surfaces looks sleek and they are very easy to keep clean. Durat is extremely durable and can be renewed by slight sanding. The material is very resistant to wear, humidity and various ingredients or chemicals.
The kitchen also features on the pages of Ottolenghi's latest book: Ottolenghi Test Kitchen, Extra Good Things. Ottolenghi has also chosen Durat Palace trays as the background for several food pictures in the book.
